IB Council members were in action twice this past week.
On Sunday they put on their "community service" hats and volunteered at their second SoundWaters Coastal Cleanup this fall, this one at Cove Island Park. Collectively, the member volunteers hauled in over 25 pounds of Stamford shoreline garbage and debris.
Tuesday morning the IB Council crew put on their "social change campaign" hats laying down a giant chalking message on the walkway leading into school to raise awareness around bullying/cyberbullying.
The chalking was the first of six messaging actions they have planned to support StompOutBullying.org in October, National Bullying Prevention and Awareness Month to raise awareness of this very relevant youth issue.
This is the 5th consecutive year IB Council has backed this social change campaign. This years remaining messaging actions include a "Monster Rock" message, a billboard, an "Interactive Chutes and Ladders" chalking, a "Fence/Cup" message and a student/staff "Signature Banner. You can look for these actions around the campus in the coming weeks.
