Rogers International School will once again be participating in the annual AMC 8 Competition! This is open to Upper School students only. It is an exciting nationwide mathematics competition.
In 2016, RIS earned a spot on the "School Merit Roll" and last year we were 1 point shy.
There is a $5 charge to participate, please read flyer and return permission slip to Mrs. Spielman by Monday October 22nd.
So what is the AMC 8?
It is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice exam in middle school mathematics designed to promote the development of problem-solving skills. It also provides an opportunity for middle school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. Students apply classroom learned skills to unique problem-solving challenges in a low-stress and friendly environment.
